Yankicha Island

Once a place of sacred initiation rites, the steep peaks and volcanic vents make Yankicha Island a magical, mystical place. The caldera has formed a pristine valley of green whose centerpiece is the serene lagoon, nearly isolated from the sea beyond it. The soil and landscape provide sanctuary to many species of birds and other wildlife.
